An exploration
into DFM.
Cyber Calc.
This project involved taking an old calculator, investigating its design/production features and then redesigning it for a modern aesthetic with the focal point of the project being on designing for manufacturing. The project breaks down how it would be mass produced and the reasoning behind design features as well as the costing.
From, ‘Dixon HD200 desk top calculator’ to the CyberTruck inspired ‘Cyber Calc’.

Using old parts.
The new Cyber Calc was designed to house the original parts from the Dixon calculator.
After measuring and CAD modelling the original parts, the new body was modelled around them.
